Popular Areas for a Buy-to-Let Investment

Brighton and Hove is a great place to live and work. A seaside destination of choice for many, the City remains a popular destination for a weekend or a day trip. Just try driving up the A23 from Brighton after a sunny Bank Holiday!

There are lots of good things here (the Wheel, the pier, the Pavilion, great restaurants, fabulous pubs ‐ we could go on) which make it an attractive proposition for a buy-to-let investor. Within convenient reach of London by train, properties in Brighton and Hove can command robust rental prices.

The area stayed relatively stable throughout the economic crisis in recent years, a sort of "economic bubble" amidst other declining places in the South. Considered an affluent area and still thriving, the City continues to develop commercial and residential building programmes. Therefore, investing in property to rent is well worth considering.

Where to Invest in Brighton and Hove

The centre of town in particular has many plus points for the buy-to-let investor, with considerable potential. Properties tend to be let quickly, too.

By contrast, properties further out of Brighton and Hove can take longer to let but they benefit from more convenient street parking and have a more residential feel. Flats and houses on the peripheries or further out tend to be let on a longer term basis than those in the centre of town. They're also popular with people who commute to Gatwick or London by car.

Elm Grove and Lewes Road area

Very close to the majority of universities and colleges, therefore all sizes and types of property will be an excellent choice for students.

Brighton Station and the Town Centre

London is less than an hour from Brighton, therefore this is a good choice for commuters and is always in demand. This area offers a wide range of family houses and plenty of converted flats.

Bohemian, chic and extremely popular. Close to the seafront and a short walk into town, advertising rental properties in this area always produces an excellent response.

Home to a wide range of large, feature-packed properties, Hove is Brighton's more sedate sister and is a chic area full of well completed conversions with original features.
